Mike’s Beach Resort is a small family run venue that’s also the newest resort in Dauin, just 15 minutes south of Dumaguete. The Resort has eight rooms that are only meters from the Beach as is their lagoon pool with waterfall. Their goal is to provide the highest quality holiday experience.

The Dauin Beach Resort has 6 Standard and 2 Deluxe Rooms. All rooms have ocean and pool view, hot water, aircon, free WiFi internet access and TV. The Deluxe Rooms are bigger and have direct beach view.

The personal service at the resort creates a family atmosphere where you will feel welcome as soon you arrive. The rattan bed, chairs, tables and closet made the room very Pinoy, the contrast of the floral pillow cases and linens created a very tropical concept which really portrays the beauty of our Philippines. The bedside lamps at were also made up of something native (that I don’t know) were really nice accents to the native feel of the room. The room has 2 beds, 1 air-condition and a television.

Their Bathroom/Comfort Room which is really comfortable for its neatness and minimalistic style. The hot and cold shower is working pretty fine, as wells as their stylish sink with their faucets having generous flow of water. All toiletries are available on the small divider beside the sink, including towels and towelettes.

The Restaurant/Bar is located adjacently to the rooms. We only had breakfast there, a not so usual/non-traditional breakfast to be specific. They serve international delights with Mexican and American influence. All dishes are prepared by their experienced team with fresh ingredients from the local markets.

Because this Beach Resort is really for Divers, the swimming pool may be a bit small but it’s deep; 8ft. according to the staff. We were able to swam before we sleep on our first night of stay and we rally had fun though the pool chemical treatment is really strong that it lingered until the next day.

Mike’s Beach Resort is a kind of resort that is more fitted to divers. It is intentionally that because they offer different packages of diving, boat ride, diving equipments, island hopping tours, snorkeling etc. As much as we want to visit Apo Island, we weren’t able to do that because of time constrains and because the cost is not that affordable “for us”. The Beach Resort isn’t that big but the quality of service that the staff have shown us is incomparable. I should not forget the in-house Labrador dog named Lola, a very big breed yet so sweet and cuddly.  I just wish that the staff will also maintain the cleanliness of their boss’ dog, Lola deserve to smell good also just so they know.
